2009 NH vs Maine

After NH finally pulled ahead of Maine in the top of the 8th inning with a homerun by Franklin's Eric Pickowicz and a two out rbi single by Garrett Cole from Trinity put NH up 6-5. Maine tied the game in the bottom of the eighth with a two out triple. NH left the bases loaded in the 9th. In the bottom of the ninth, a two out walk and a stolen base opened the door for Maine who then got a walk off single to centerfield for the winner.
NH spotted Maine 5 runs in the first 3 innings before fighting back to eventually take the lead. Two big hits in the 5th for NH a triple by Kingswood's Nate Gonya and two out single by Garrett Cole produced 3 runs to get NH back into the game.
The pitching standout would have to have been Adam Standcliffe from Keene who kept Maine at bay, and he gave NH a chance. Due to a rain out we were not able to have with us Sean Lyons from Trinity and Mike Fransoso from Portsmouth. The 2010 game will be played at Southern Maine with a date to be determined. This is a great experience for these seniors to play with guys they have been competing against throughout their high school careers. The following was the 2009 roster.
